About 2.3km from the downstream Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Parrot Island Bridge starts from Dark Lake North Road, Jiangcheng Avenue of Hanyang District, stretches over the Yangtze River, and ends inWuchang. There are 8 lanes on the bridge. Parrot Island Bridge is the first suspension bridge with 3 bridge towers of the Yangtze River in Wuhan territory. The 3 towers symbolize the 3 towns in Wuhan, and the hot orange color implies the promising future of Wuhan. The Bridge is such a beautiful landscape in Jiangcheng.
Lighting Plan: hot orange towers, winding down cables
Highlight the linkage between 3 towers and 3 towns, maximize the visual impact of hot orange towers, and display the bold and brave image of Wuhan.
Bridge tower- hot orange towers, 3 towns in tripartite confrontation.
To emphasize the characteristics of the 3 towns as a whole, the 3 bridge towers were implemented with the same lighting method.
We used warm white floodlight to wash the tower body, which enhanced the dimensional sense of the towers, displayed the elegance and dignity of the hot orange color. Such lightings make the towers shining and vivid, just like 3 giant men walking in a queue. The concept is bold and so are Wuhan citizens.
Bridge Cable- winding down
Two cables winding down from the tower, highlights the night with two beautiful curves dotted with spots. The night lighting design focuses on the theme of promising future. The special designed LED orange spot lights make the Parrot Island Bridge as graceful as the angle’s wings, and link the 3 towers together. The side of the bridge is lined out by orange rays produced by oval spot lights. The oval frame symbolizes the shape of the water drop, which illustrate the 3 towns’waterside location, and also can reduce the wind resistance and improve the stability of the luminaires.
